Wallisson is from Chapada dos Guimarães, Mato Grosso, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from UFMT. He has experience in taxonomy of Cerrado plants and is learning about bird taxonomy . He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the Postgraduate Program in Zoology (PPGZOO) at UFMT, where he is developing a project that seeks to determine the distribution and migration patterns of a taxonomic complex of Tityras (Aves: Passeriformes: Cotingidae: Tityra inquisitor sspp.) from the Neotropical region.
