I am an adjunct professor at the Dept. of Biology and Zoology, and professor/advisor in the Postgraduate Program in Zoology, both at the Institute of Biosciences of the Federal University of Mato Grosso, where I am also the curator of the institution’s Ornithology Collection.
Additionally, I am a member (since 2003) and former chair (2012-2025) of the Brazilian Ornithological Records Committee and its Taxonomy subcommittee; a member of the Brazilian Ornithological Society (since 2004), where I have also served as secretary (2005-2007), member of the deliberative council (2020-2023), and member of the fiscal council (2024-2025); I am also an elective member of the American Ornithological Society; a member of the Working Group on Avian Nomenclature (WGAN) of the International Ornithologists’ Union; a technical advisor on nomenclature for the South American Checklist Committee (SACC/IOC); and an associate researcher at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University (Philadelphia, USA).
